Welcome to Beyond Persia! The website dedicated to the promotion of the Arts & culture of Iranian diaspora.
Iranian artists of all kinds, painters, designers, musicians, writers, and filmmakers are celebrated here, beyond Persia, in the hopes of helping bridge the culture gap existing between our rich history and the new homes in the host nations of millions of displaced Iranians before and since 1979. Art serves as a wonderful platform for this mission as both message and the medium can be universally understood and built upon to benefit the greater good.
We kick off 2008 with great enthusiasm as we embark on our second year in the US. Based in the Bay Area we have enjoyed the genuine support of thousands of San Franciscans and Bay Area residents who have come to our free events, purchased tickets to our paid events, bought art, music, films, and participated in our raffles and generally done everything they can to support the artists of Iranian descent, and show pride in their own culture.
The emphasis we’ve tried hard to put on all our efforts is in what we refer to internally as the “cultural upgrade” we feel. The consistent feedback we’ve had from the public, the City and our artists is a resounding agreement that this is something that is both necessary and greatly welcomed by all parties. We strive to make each of our events as sophisticated, high brow, and elegant a solution as it can be for showcasing Iranian culture.
We hope to continue getting your support at our events and look forward to bringing as many first class events as we expand across the US events as we can in 2008.
